Hal Windows v2.0...IEx64 For Internet Explorer...x64 & Windows 7 Compatible...
IEx64 by Amanda Interactive Inc
Download IEx64: IEx64.zip
Version Number: 1.0
Version Release Date: 05/17/10
Last Update: none

IEx64 Main Function:
Runs Internet Explorer, sets affinity to one core on x64.
Makes online Haptek webpages more compatible with IE.

Requirements:
Hal Windows, AutoIt, or Ultra Hal software install not required. A Haptek install is also
not required because IEx64 can be used to go to all types of websites with webpages
that run old programs that may be incompatible with a x64 system. So just IE6 or higher
is all that is required to use the IEx64 program. But in general it's recommended that you
at least have IE7 or IE8 installed if you have a x64 multicore system.

Additional Info:
IEx64 is x64 MultiCore Compatible for Haptek 3D software running in online webpages.
After unzipping there's nothing to install because it works from any hard drive or flash
drive location. But it's recommended that you create a new shortcut and place it wherever
you want, desktop is good. It's also recommended that you leave the IEx64.exe file inside
of its folder and just move the entire folder to wherever you want to put it. But IEx64.exe
will still work just fine even if it's not in it's original folder.

Instructions:
The IEx64 program is Windows 7 & x64 compatible so that a user with a multicore system can run online webpages with Haptek characters and not have the usual Haptek related problems and issues while using Internet Explorer.

Some x64 systems may also require that the IEx64 program file, IEx64.exe, be configured with the Privilege Level set to run the program as an administrator and/or the Compatibility Mode set with the XP SP3 setting. It's easy to configure, right click directly on the IEx64.exe file then select Properties and then select the Compatibility tab to make the necessary changes. It's recommended that you only set the Privilege Level first and then see how things work. Setting the Compatibility Mode may cause the program process to use a lot more memory which may not be necessary if things seem to work good with just the Privilege Level set to run as an administrator.

Running with the Privilege/Compatibility addresses & fixes the Haptek character load bug
which sometimes occurs with online webpages. But a Win7 system usually does not allow setting the Compatibility Mode for Internet Explorer because Internet Explorer is considered
to be a system component and not a software program. However, you usually can run Internet Explorer as an administrator from it's process file context menu, but you cannot configure it to always run as an administrator. And if you also want to set the affinity to use only one CPU core you have to do that manually from the system task manager window or use some other kind of program that sets the affinity more easily or automatically. Well, IEx64 does everything and is also designed especially for use with Haptek characters running in online webpages, such as the Hal Windows Central HTV On Demand page. But you can use IEx64 to navigate
to any webpage at any website whether it uses Haptek characters or not. Just use the Internet Explorer window the same way you always do and hopefully most all Haptek webpages
will work right without the usual problems and issues that occur on a x64 multicore
system.
